Hosparus Health of Central Kentucky needs patient support volunteers in Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue and Meade counties, as well as volunteers to work in its Elizabethtown Thrift Shoppe. The nonprofit hospice and palliative care organization offers free training for both types of volunteers at its Elizabethtown office, 105 Diecks Drive, throughout the year. Training dates for patient support volunteers are scheduled based on demand. Thrift Shoppe training is scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of every month 9 to 11 a.m. est; upcoming dates include Aug. 28 and Sept. 25.
