The Grayson County Extension Service and the Grayson County Cattleman’s Association would like to invite all producers to a Beef Field Day on June 28, 2018 at the St. Clair Farm. The Field Day is hosted by Eric & Sherry St. Clair at their farm at 13433 Falls of Rough Road in Falls of Rough, Kentucky. Program activities will be held on the following schedule:
Vendors open 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Farm Tours begin at 5:00 p.m.
Meal and Program at 6:00 p.m.
Ladies Program: Cooking Demonstration at 6:00 p.m.
Kid’s Program: Grayson County 4-H Livestock Club at 6:00 p.m.
Vendors and exhibits will be set up with information on new products and services available in our area. Plan to come early to visit with various representatives.
You don’t want to miss the farm tours that will begin at 5:00 p.m., and are designed to give you a first-hand look at how the St. Clair’s operate a successful cattle and forage operation. They will also be touring pearl millet and corn silage plots.
The program will be on Genetics & Sire Evaluation, and brought to you by guest speakers Dr. Les Anderson, University of Kentucky Extension Reproductive Specialist, and Robert Whitaker, representative from ST Genetics.
The Ladies Program and Cooking Demonstration will be provided as an alternate program to those that may be interested in a Summer cooking demonstration by Natalie Taul, Grayson County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences. She will feature a Kentucky Proud, Plate it Up recipe for you to sample.
The Kid’s Program is for all ages, and will be conducted by the Grayson County 4-H Livestock Club. The Club will introduce kids to skills on livestock judging, animal health and nutrition, and other topics.
We hope that you will come out to the Field Day and enjoy hamburgers cooked on the grill by the Grayson County Cattleman’s Association. It’s a great opportunity to see old friends and meet new ones, while enjoying a summer evening of education and fellowship. Promotional fliers that include a map to the St. Clair Farm are available at the Extension Office at 123 Commerce Drive in Leitchfield. For more information about this event, you may call the Extension Office at 270) 259-3492.
