(Leitchfield, KY) – Applications for money for important farm improvements is now available for the County Agricultural Investment Program (CAIP). Applications can be picked up at the Grayson County Extension Office during the application period from October 1 through October 22, 2019, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., CST. All applications will be scored based on the scoring criteria set by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board. No applications will be accepted before October 1 or after October 22. Producers who were approved and completed projects in 2018, are NOT eligible for CAIP in 2019. The following is a list of eligible investment areas:
• Agricultural Diversification
• Large Animal-Small Animal
• Farm Infrastructure
• Fencing & On-Farm Water
• Forage & Grain Improvement
• Innovative Ag Systems
• On-Farm Energy
• Poultry & Other Fowl
• Technology & Leadership Development
• Value Added & Marketing
An INFORMATIONAL session about the 2019 CAIP program will be held at the Mission Center, beside the Leitchfield United Methodist Church on October 10th at 5:30 p.m., before the Cattlemen’s meeting. You do not have to attend the Cattlemen’s meeting to go to the informational session. Applications will be available at the session. We also have an informational video that will be available at the Extension Office that will explain the application process.
