A Farmer’s Market planning and organizational meeting will be held at the Grayson County Extension Office on March 12th beginning at 9:00 a.m. and is open to anyone that is interested in learning more about the 2019 Farmer’s Market, and is for new and past members. Topics on the agenda are membership, location, training, hours, by-laws, fees, etc. Lunch is provided at the meeting and you must call (270) 259-3492 to RSVP to make your reservation. Every vendor selling at the Market is required to be trained in 2019, and training will be conducted at the end of March or the first part of April, when dates are available from the state. Members will be notified when the date is set.
In addition to fresh vegetables and fruits, vendors at the Farmer’s Market may also sell locally produced honey, home baked breads, and other baked goods, eggs, fish and seafood, meats, dairy products, cut flowers, plants, fruits, vegetables, homemade soaps, jams, jellies, preserves, sauces, dried foods, rubs, mixes, spices & herbs, salsa, apple butters, and all manner of art, including but not limited to, baskets, paintings, pottery, furniture, signage, and many other items. Products for sale at the Market must be in compliance with the guidelines of the Association, which maintains a high quality of standards, and the seller must have made or produced the item(s) they are selling.
The Farmer’s Market is an outlet for Kentucky agriculture, horticulture and craft products, and is reserved for growers from Grayson County and six adjoining counties: Breckinridge, Hardin, Hart, Edmonson, Ohio, and Butler. Selling days for the Grayson County Farmer’s Market are Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at several different locations.
