The Grayson County Extension Service will resume the in-person cooking series, “Cooking through the Calendar” with monthly sessions beginning on June 9, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the new Extension Office facility located at 64 Quarry Road in Leitchfield. The class will feature a recipe each month from the 2021 Food + Nutrition Calendar, and will be taught by Grayson County Nutrition Education Program Assistant, Robin Burton. Class topics will include meal planning, eating better on a budget, food safety, reading food labels, knowing your limits, and more! Classes will be held on the following schedule:
June 9th – Rockin’ Chicken Tacos
July 14th – Garden Patch Salad
August 4th – Peach and Blueberry Crumble
September 8th – Bourbon Street Chicken
October 13th – Potato Hash
November 10th – Holiday Turkey Salad
December 8th – Vegetable Barley Soup
Participants will receive a free gift for every class they attend! Advanced registration is required by calling (270) 259-3492, and you are not required to attend all sessions. In addition to receiving a free gift, one lucky winner will receive a basket of ingredients to prepare the featured monthly recipe at home! Don’t forget we are at our NEW location at 64 Quarry Road and masks and social distancing are still required. We look forward to seeing you again!
