At Thursday night’s Leitchfield Utilities Commission meeting, Commissioners voted to approve the installation of an in-line heater at the Brownsville Regulator Station after experiencing issues involving the equipment freezing over the last few winters.

The equipment will be purchased from Tri-State Meter & Regulator Service at a cost of $15,276.

Mayor William Thomason, who is a member of the commission, asked Commissioners to approve a .50 cent per hour raise for a city/utility employee, and a $1.50 per hour raise for another city/utility employee. The raises, described as “compensating rate increases,” were approved.

The salaries of both employees are split evenly between the city of Leitchfield and Leitchfield Utilities.

Commissioners also approved changing City Clerk/Treasurer Lori Woosley’s from an hourly employee to salaried.
