An Elizabethtown woman who stole prescription pills from a cancer patient she was caring for has agreed to a plea deal.

In March, 60-year-old Karen Baggett was arrested after being caught on video surveillance stealing about $90 worth of hydrocodone pills from a bed-ridden cancer patient. According to a report in the News Enterprise, Baggett pled guilty to two counts of theft by unlawful taking (a class D felony), and was sentenced to one year in prison.

The cancer patient has since passed away.

Baggett will be eligible for parole after serving 55 days of her sentence.
