The Leitchfield Police Department is investigating after a female shot a Leitchfield woman.
Thursday morning at approximately 9:30, LPD officers were dispatched to the Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center Emergency Room after a female suffering from a gunshot wound arrived for treatment.
A male dropped off the victim at the ER and then fled the area, police said.
The ongoing investigation has so far shown that the victim was shot by another woman at a residence in the 300 block of Thomas Street, according to police. A search warrant was obtained and executed by LPD at the residence.
Both the victim’s car and the suspect’s vehicle have been seized and are being processed for evidence. The suspect’s vehicle, according to LPD, was located at Parkway Villa Apartments (aka Penner Apartments) on Penner Drive in Leitchfield.
The victim was treated and released from Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.
No further information is currently being released as the investigation is ongoing.
