K105 reported on Wednesday morning that new Leitchfield City Council member Tim Bocock urged the council to become more aggressive and use new tactics to recruit businesses to the city at Monday night’s meeting, here is the rest of the business conducted at that meeting.
One bid was received to outfit a new Leitchfield Fire Department quint/ladder truck. The bid, for $119,474, was accepted on the condition that the price of the installation will not change between now and when the equipment arrives for the new truck.
The new truck is scheduled to arrive in mid-May, but it’s not uncommon for deliveries of fire trucks to be delayed for various reasons.
As K105 reported, the council approved the purchase of the new fire truck in August 2023.
The council additionally agreed to rezone 617 Johnson Street from R-2 (single family, medium density) to C-1 (highway commercial).
The council followed the recommendation of the Leitchfield Planning Commission, which held a public meeting on the request on March 10.
The council entered into an Executive Session for 12 minutes where they discussed the possible sale of property.
