A Leitchfield man has been arrested after being found with a firearm and drugs near a person who has an emergency protection order (EPO) against the suspect.

The Leitchfield Police Department responded to Sunrise Drive on Saturday morning at approximately 10:15 regarding an EPO violation.

Upon officers arriving at the scene, they found 37-year-old Jeremy W. Hutchinson “well within the 500 foot range” from the person who was granted a protection order against the suspect, according to the arrest citation.

Police detained Hutchinson, the citation states, and during a search located a pistol in his pocket along with methamphetamine and a pipe.

Hutchinson was charged with violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he remains.

This arrest marks at least the third time Hutchinson has been arrested on drug charges.

As K105 reported in April 2022, Leitchfield police arrested Hutchinson during a traffic stop at Parkway Villa Apartments (popularly known as Penner Apartments). He was charged in that case with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), two counts of possession of a controlled substance (drugs unspecified) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with an unrelated arrest warrant.

Hutchinson was, according to online records, arrested in Hardin County in May 2024 and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, drug unspecified).
