Geraldine “Jewel” Embry, age 92, of Caneyville, KY, entered her heavenly home on Thursday, (March 13, 2025) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on August 31, 1932 in Butler County, KY, the daughter of the late Charles and Annie Geary Swift.
Jewel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Jewel loved her family very much. She was loved by many, the sweetest woman you would ever meet. She was a homemaker, she loved music and she loved to sing. She also loved flowers and pretty things. Jewel was a true angel on this Earth.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Gallahue (Pete), Catherine Spencer (Lou) and Patricia Embry (Larry) and two sons, Freddie Embry and Timmy Embry. Jewel has 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Jewel is also survived by her sister, Elaine Hack and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Andrew Embry, and her loving son, Roger Embry, as well as three sisters and two brothers.
To know Jewel Embry was to love her. She had a smile for everyone and really lit up a room. Jewel attended White Ridge Church and loved the Lord. She was a great storyteller and loved talking about her childhood and her family. She will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (March 18, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Daniel Mudd will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch “Dogwalk” Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
