A Grayson County teenager has been arrested after assaulting a female medical worker at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.
The incident began Saturday evening when a 911 caller reported a male lying on the ground on Kate Corner. EMS responded to the scene and transported 18-year-old David M. Kendall, of Caneyville, to the ER after he “would not communicate in any way to EMS to determine what had happened …,” according to the arrest citation.
Once at the emergency room and as a female medical professional was “trying to conduct a medical evaluation,” Kendall is accused of striking the woman in the head, the citation states.
Leitchfield Police Department Officers Brian Jennings and Jeff Jackson arrived at the hospital Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and conducted an investigation, resulting in Kendall’s arrest.
The suspect, according to the citation, was determined to be “intoxicated and … over medicated.”
Kendall was charged with third-degree assault (healthcare provider), a class D felony, and public intoxication. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
