A bridge in Edmonson County will be closed for approximately two months.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 said the bridge over Big Reedy Creek near the Big Reedy Road (Hwy 238) and Bowling Green Road (Hwy 185) intersection will be closed for two months beginning Friday, March 7.
The rehab project includes the installation of new bridge beams and a new bridge deck. The new rehabilitated bridge will use the same footprint as the existing bridge, according to the transportation cabinet.
A detour directing motorists to use “the other” Big Reedy Road intersection with Bowling Green Road will be in place.
When the rehabilitation is complete, the current 18-ton weight limit restriction will be lifted.
The project cost is $645,000.
