
A man has been hit by a train in Simpson County.
The incident happened Wednesday night on South Railroad Street in Franklin.
The CSX train personnel told Franklin police that when he saw the man, Joseph Chastain, on the tracks that the horn was blown but the victim did not exit the tracks, according to a report by WBKO.com.
Officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Chastain, as police determined he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Chastain was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he’s in critical condition.
