The body of a missing Murray man has been found.

Samuel T. Wilson, 39, went missing on Sunday, February 16, according to Kentucky State Police. His vehicle was found in floodwaters the next day near Symsonia, in northwest Graves County about 30 miles from Murray.

“He was not located in or around the vehicle and family reports they have not seen or heard from him since the vehicle was recovered,” state police said.

Gov. Andy Beshear on Tuesday said Wilson’s body was recovered on Monday in a wooded area approximately 150 yards from where his vehicle was discovered.

Wilson’s death is the 23rd weather-related fatality in Kentucky since flooding, heavy snowfall and arctic temperatures struck the state earlier this month. Of the 23 people who have perished, 13 died in flood-related incidents.
