The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and several other law enforcement agencies are investigating the stabbing death of an 81-year-old woman.
The sheriff added at the time that the “case is active and ongoing.”
Wright, later Thursday, told reporters that the female victim had been identified as Norma June Greenwell. She was fatally stabbed in what investigators currently characterize as a burglary.
Wright said it’s likely Greenwell died at least one day before she was found, and that she was targeted by someone she knew.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office at 270-298-4444.
Kentucky State Police, the Owensboro Police Department and multiple federal agencies are assisting in the investigation.
