A teenager has been charged in the overdose death of a Bowling Green High School student, while two others are facing related fentanyl trafficking charges.

The Bowling Green Police Department said officers responded on January 21 to the overdose death of 18-year-old Acacia Rose Martinez, a senior at Bowling Green High School.

The investigation led police to develop 19-year-old Brayan Torres, of Bowling Green, as a suspect in “providing Martinez with the fatal drugs,” the BGPD stated in a social media post.

Bowling Green police detectives and the Bowling Green – Warren County Drug Task Force conducted surveillance on Torres at his residence on Butler Way, where a second suspect, 23-year-old Reath D. Khan, of Portland, Tennessee, arrived and met with Torres.

Detectives arrested both men and located a gun in Khan’s possession and drugs on both men, the BGPD said.

Police then obtained information leading them to a hotel on Mel Browning Street, near the I-65 interchange, where investigators located a third suspect, 28-year-old Mut D. Khan, of El Cajon, California, in a hotel room.

During a search of the room, police found fentanyl, cocaine and a large amount of cash.

Torres was charged with reckless homicide in the death of Martinez. Torres and both Khans were also charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl) and engaging in organized crime.

Reath Khan was additionally charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The three suspects were lodged in the Warren Co. Regional Jail.

The Warren Co. Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police assisted with the investigation.
