A man who fled from police in mid-December has been found deceased in the Ohio River.
Kentucky State Police said the body of 47-year-old David Blevins Jr., of Staffordsville (Johnson Co.), was found in the Ohio River near Maysville in Mason County on Monday morning at approximately 9:30.
Blevins had been reported missing by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on December 19. The last place Blevins was seen alive was in Martin County, which borders the Ohio River 130 miles south of Mason County, on December 13, according to a post on Kentucky Missing People.
Martin County Sheriff John Kirk previously told media outlets that deputies attempted a traffic stop on Blevins on December 13, but Blevins fled the stop.
A drone was used into the early morning hours of December 14 to locate Blevins without success.
Kentucky State Police Sgt. Eugene Robinson is leading the investigation.
