A widely used bridge connecting Grayson and Breckinridge counties will be closed for up to four months.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 4 spokesman Chris Jessie said the bridge on Brandenburg Road (Hwy 259) that connects Grayson and Breckinridge counties (Eveleigh bridge) will be closed for up to 120 days as “a full bridge deck replacement project” takes place.

The work will begin on Monday, February 10.

A signed detour will be in place recommending motorists enter Breckinridge County using the bridge on Lilac Road (Hwy 737) at Peter Cave.

Signs will also be placed on approaches to Eveleigh bridge to alert local traffic of the upcoming closure, according to Jessie.
