The Leitchfield Police Department has identified a suspect in the theft of a truck from FiveStar Food Mart early Saturday morning.

As K105 reported on Monday, the stolen Ford-F150 was discovered abandoned by LPD Officer Jeff Jackson on Saturday afternoon in a field off Salt River Road near Core-Mark.

During the initial investigation, “officers gathered statements and evidence from witnesses and a person of interest was identified,” LPD said.

That person of interest has been identified as 48-year-old David H. Clark, of Leitchfield, according to police.

Investigators obtained “further evidence,” which established Clark as a suspect and provided probable cause to execute a search warrant at Clark’s residence at 502 Salt River Road.

While executing the warrant on Tuesday, “… more items of evidence were located as well as evidence of controlled substances,” Leitchfield police said.

Clark has an “extensive background with law enforcement in other counties,” according to LPD.

Anyone with information on Clark’s location is asked to contact the Leitchfield Police Department at 270-259-3850.
