An alert Leitchfield police officer spotted and recovered a stolen vehicle despite large trees blocking his view.
On Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:20, LPD Officer Jeff Jackson was on patrol in the 1100 block of Salt River Road when he spotted a Ford F-150 truck in a muddy, tree-lined field. When the truck entered the field it traveled parallel to the roadway when it apparently became stuck in the mud.
Jackson quickly confirmed the truck was recently stolen from a Leitchfield business parking lot.
Officers Eugene Cain and Bart Glenn assisted at the scene.
