Former Grayson County High School baseball coach Danny Clark has been inducted into the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.

The ceremony was held on Friday afternoon in Louisville during their annual conference.

Clark was the head coach of the Cougars for 18 seasons taking the team to the regional tournament 17 times with an overall record of 345-276.

He becomes the second former GCHS coach to be named to the hall of fame, joining the late Don Lee who was a part of the original class in 1997.

“Being named head baseball coach at my alma mater was a dream come true in 2003,” Clark told K105 following his retirement in 2021. “As I step away now, I have nothing but a sense of pride and optimism for the future. I’m proud of all the improvements to our facilities that have been made. It’s definitely been a labor of love because of the passion and work ethic instilled in me by my former coaches Don Lee, and Jim Alvey.”

He also spent time coaching on the football field as the head man from 1996-2000 and now coaches football in the Carolinas.

“That’s what makes my profession so special because it takes a whole community effort to provide young student-athletes a place to get honest unbiased guidance that all young students need,” Clark also said. “It’s all I ever wanted to do professionally and having a successful career depended on so many factors.”

The nomination was put forth by current Grayson County baseball head coach Jodie Nutt who served as an assistant under Clark prior to his promotion.
