A veteran law enforcement officer with over 20 years of experience has been selected the Leitchfield Police Department’s 2024 Officer of the Year.
Chuck Hoover, who has been in law enforcement for 24 years, was chosen by a vote of his peers for the honor.
Hoover began his career with the Cobb County Police Department in Marietta, Georgia. He returned to his childhood home in Crittenden County in 2004 where he served with the Marion Police Department and Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office.
“Chuck has proven to be a great addition to our department and has brought invaluable wisdom and experience from two prior agencies,” LPD said. “This award is voted on by the men and women of LPD. Again, we congratulate Officer Hoover and appreciate his service to the department and our community.”
He joined the Leitchfield PD in early 2023.
