A former president of the Mayfield/Graves County Chamber of Commerce has pled guilty to stealing thousands of dollars from the organization.

Allison Morris, 48, pled guilty this week to theft by unlawful taking (greater than $10,000), a class C felony.

As a condition of the plea agreement, Morris will pay $20,000 in restitution to the Chamber and receive a five-year sentence, according to the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office. She will be formally sentenced in April.

According to court documents, Morris admitted to stealing funds from the Chamber between May 2021 and February 2024 to pay for personal expenses, prosecutors said. A Graves County Grand Jury indicted Morris in May 2024.

“In the aftermath of the western Kentucky tornadoes, the people of Graves County needed leaders with laser focus on rebuilding the community. I’m grateful to the investigators and prosecutors who held this thief accountable for her reprehensible actions,” Attorney General Russell Coleman said.

Kentucky State Police investigated the case.
