The snow is certainly picturesque but it’s causing roadways in Grayson County to become dangerously slick.

Grayson County Emergency Management did not mince words when evaluating the roadway situation in the county:

“To plainly put it, the roads are deteriorating fast. Stay off the roadways. Crews are out working on them currently. WK Parkway is solid white at the 108 mm on up to Elizabethtown. There are several vehicles off the roadway and in the ditch. To reiterate, STAY OFF THE ROADS!!”

Several inches of snow have fallen since Friday morning, and light snow will continue to fall until around 9:00 p.m. Friday.

The temperature will continue to drop from Friday’s daytime high of 31 degrees, with an overnight low of 26. The falling temps will only serve to make driving more treacherous.

On Saturday, the high temperature is forecast to be 32 degrees, with cloudy skies, according to the National Weather Service.

State and county road crews continue to clear and treat roadways which will hopefully make travel less hazardous on Saturday.
