A woman found deceased in a parking lot in Henry County was a beloved preschool teacher.
As K105 reported Thursday morning, the body of 56-year-old Rebecca “Becky” Skeen, of Jericho, was found outside, lying unresponsive in the parking lot of the Campbellsburg Dollar General Store Wednesday morning at approximately 6:30.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Skeen was a teacher at Buttlerfly Garden Academy in Campbellsburg, a town of fewer than 900 residents.
The academy posted the following tribute to Skeen on its Facebook page:
“It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the passing of our wonderful Pre-k teacher, Ms Becky Skeen. Becky has been a staple in this community for decades and her absence will be felt by all of those that knew her. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Please keep the family as well as her coworkers in your prayers in the days and weeks ahead.”
Skeen previously worked at Joy’s Learning Center and New Castle Elementary School, according to her obituary.
A cause of death has not yet been determined as the investigation continues and is being led by Kentucky State Police.
