A man convicted of killing a woman and her unborn child, as well as the woman’s husband and grandmother, will remain in prison.

Attorney General Russell Coleman announced the Kentucky Supreme Court upheld the sentence of 44-year-old Paul Brock, of Corbin, who was convicted of killing four people.

Brock was arrested in February 2018 for the shooting deaths of Mary Jackson, 74, her pregnant granddaughter, Tiffany Myers, 33, and Myers’ husband, Aaron Byers, 45.

Corbin police found Jackson and Myers shot to death in their home. Days later, Byers’ body was discovered in a shallow grave on Brock’s property, the attorney general’s office said.

In 2022, Brock was convicted in Whitley County on three counts of murder and fetal homicide before agreeing to a sentence of life without the possibility of parole to avoid the death penalty.

Brock, though, appealed his conviction that same year, arguing that there were several errors made in his trial.

Upon hearing arguments, the Kentucky Supreme Court agreed with prosecutors that Brock should remain behind bars and serve out his sentence.

Kentucky’s Assistant Solicitor General and Director of Capital Litigation Chris Henry represented the commonwealth on appeal.

Brock is being held at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex, according to the Kentucky Dept. of Corrections.
