James B. Minton “Bert,” age 95, of Louisville, KY, passed away Sunday, (December 22, 2024) at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born on March 20, 1929 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Frank and Delphia Tomes Minton.
He retired from General Electric in Louisville. Bert enjoyed gardening, playing ROOK, and watching University of Kentucky basketball. His great pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren. He married Alice Armes on June 5, 1953, and together they lived a long and happy life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1951 until 1953 for the Testing & Training 50th Signal
Battalion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Armes Minton of Louisville; his daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Mark Copeland of Louisville; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Delphia Minton; two brothers, Byron and Morton Minton; and one sister, Thelma Embry.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. (EST) Monday, (December 30, 2024) at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY. Bro. Trenton Fleener will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery in Leitchfield, KY under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. (EST) on Monday until time of services.
