Linda Sue Rice, age 56, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (December 16, 2024) at her residence.
She was born on September 16, 1968 in Owensboro, KY, the daughter of the late David Earl Duke and Ruth Ann Dewitt Mattingly.
She worked at Save-A-Lot and retired after 23 years. Linda’s grandchildren were her life. She adored all of them. She loved being a home-maker and loved to cook. Linda also loved motorcycles.
She is survived by her daughter, Candace Blanton (Steven) and her son, Patrick Rice, all of Leitchfield; five sisters, Mary Dewitt (Kelly) of Cloverport, Cindy Blanton (William), Connie J. Mattingly, Samantha Mattingly, Robin Dupin all of Leitchfield; four brothers, David Bishop, Harold Mattingly (Kristin), Andy Mattingly (Amy), all of Leitchfield, and Randy Mattingly (Olga) of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Alandreia, Steve, and Sabrina Blanton; two great-grandchildren, Naudalynn and Jackson Arms; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, David Earl Duke and Ruth Ann Mattingly, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Wayne Rice, grandson, Christopher Blake Blanton; and her sister, Sherry Pinkston.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, (December 22, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Cremation will follow the services.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Sunday until time of services.
