Students in Grayson County received nearly $2 million in scholarship and grant money in 2024 courtesy of the Kentucky Lottery Corporation (KLC).
In total, the KLC awarded over $8.7 million in scholarships and grants to students from Breckinridge, Butler, Grayson, Meade, and Ohio counties in fiscal year 2024.
The funds supported 4,859 grants and enabled students to pursue higher education and vocational training, according to state Sen. Steve Meredith, R-Leitchfield.
In Grayson County, 685 students received $1,928,428 in scholarships and grants over the past year, according to KLC.
“These funds go beyond numbers; they’re about opening doors for our students and strengthening our communities,” Meredith said. “Thanks to the Kentucky Lottery, thousands of young people in our district have the opportunity to build successful futures right here in the commonwealth.”
Statewide, the Kentucky Lottery achieved record sales of $2.1 billion, a 14 percent increase from the previous years, contributing $404.4 million to education programs in the commonwealth.
