Two people have been arrested after stealing jewelry and a family’s Christmas presents.
Clinton County Sheriff Ricky Marcum said police were notified of a break-in at a home on Old Burkesville Road. Upon arriving at the residence, deputies found that the suspects forced entry through the back door and stole “various items of jewelry … along with the family’s Christmas presents,” Marcum said.
A collaborative investigation between the sheriff’s office and Albany Police Department resulted in investigators locating a vehicle associated with the burglary at Royal Inn in Albany. The discovery of the vehicle, along with interviews, led police to issue arrest warrants for 38-year-old Jessica Dalton and 38-year-old Nathaniel R. Johnson, both of Albany.
Both suspects were arrested by Kentucky State Police in Russell County.
Some of the stolen items were recovered, Marcum said.
Johnson was charged with second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking and lodged in the Adair County Detention Center. Dalton was charged with conspiracy to second-degree burglary and complicity to theft by unlawful taking and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
