Three people died in a four-vehicle accident on the Bluegrass Parkway in Hardin County.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred Saturday evening at approximately 5:10 near the six-mile marker of the parkway.
The sheriff’s office, using police report jargon, said in a press release: “Unit 1 struck Unit 2 in the eastbound lanes of travel, lost control of the vehicle, exited the roadway left, crossed the median, went airborne, and ultimately struck Unit 3 head-on in the westbound lanes of travel. Unit 3 then struck Unit 4 in the front passenger side.”
The driver of Unit 1, 30-year-old Shirley Fuqua, of Elizabethtown, was pronounced deceased at the scene. William Parson 55, and his wife, Leslie Parson, 58, of Bowling Green, were also pronounced deceased at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
The drivers of Unit 2 and Unit 4 suffered non-life threatening injuries.
