Saturday night’s arrest on Shrewsbury Road

Kentucky State Police, according to the arrest citation obtained by WNKY.com, said the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded Saturday night to the report of a stolen vehicle on Kattawar Circle, off Louisville Road (Hwy 31-W) and across from Warren East High School.

Police soon made contact with the vehicle as it traveled at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Hwy 101 and Louisville Road. Law enforcement initiated a traffic stop, as Constant initially stopped but fled onto Hwy 101 into Edmonson County at speeds reaching 105 miles per hour.

The pursuit continued on Hwy 101 as the suspect fled into Brownsville before turning onto Hwy 70 and then Shrewsbury Road where Constant entered Grayson County.

Once in Grayson County, and at approximately 9:15 p.m., a trooper attempted an unsuccessful PIT maneuver, but a second PIT maneuver resulted in the vehicle flipping off the roadway where it struck an empty vehicle parked at a residence in the 3600 block of Shrewsbury Road.

Constant was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center before being airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital where he was cleared for incarceration.

The suspect was then lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he was charged with receiving stolen property ($10,000 or more), felony wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree criminal mischief, speeding more than 26 miles per hour over the limit, failure to wear a seat belt, disregarding a stop sign, and failure to or improper signal.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Leitchfield Police Department, after being notified the pursuit had entered Grayson County, responded to two different locations: If the pursuit had continued the sheriff’s office and LPD were ready to deploy spike strips at the intersection of Shrewsbury Road and Sadler Road, while LPD closed the roadway at the intersection of Shrewsbury Road and Frontage Road.
