Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the things that truly matter—our families, our communities, and the people whose hard work and service make a difference in our daily lives. Across Kentucky, educators, health care workers, farmers, first responders, and countless others dedicate themselves to serving others. Their contributions deserve our gratitude, not just during the holidays but throughout the year.

I’m often reminded of the importance of compassion and service. The holidays can be a joyful time, but they can difficult for those going through illness, loss, or other hardships. A thoughtful gesture or simple act of kindness can mean more than we know this time of year.

Thanksgiving also gives us the opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and focus on what truly matters. It’s a moment to pause, appreciate the year behind us, and look forward with hope to what lies ahead. These moments of togetherness and gratitude remind us of the values and traditions that bind us as a community.

As we approach the 2025 Regular Session, I remain focused on addressing the needs of our district and the commonwealth, including improving access to health care and strengthening systems that support our families.
