Police in Hardin County recently received a tip on a nearly 20-year-old murder case and are seeking additional information from the tipster.
The Radcliff Police Department said detectives received intelligence via Hardin County Crime Stoppers “earlier this year” regarding a 2005 murder.
“He (the tipster) gave very specific details/information about encountering a male subject in a parking lot in Owensboro. The caller provided other identifying characteristics of the male he spoke with, as well as a vehicle description and location of the encounter,” Radcliff police said.
Police are asking the tipster to “reach back out to Hardin County Crime Stoppers and please leave a phone number, an email address, or some way to communicate with him.”
Police added that the tipster may remain anonymous, “but we would like to at a minimum have a phone conversation to clarify some of the details of the conversation that took place.”
If the caller wants to communicate directly, he can call 270-351-5147, or 270-351-4477 and ask for Det. Kenneth Mattingly.
The phone number for Hardin County Crime Stoppers is 1-800-597-8123.
