James D. Beville Park has received a generous donation to build a large water fountain in the park’s lake.

“The heirs of James D. Beville and the Collectively Outside Foundation partnered with Leitchfield VFW Post 12175 and donated a check for $10,000 to add a larger water fountain, with lights to help aerate the lake,” Leitchfield Parks & Recreation Director Tammee Saltsman said.

The smaller fountain will be moved to the other end of the lake, according to Saltsman.

“The Collectively Outside Foundation has played a significant role in the updates to the pavilions at James D. Beville park,” Saltsman said, “as they work each year to help improve the park.”

The decision on how the money is spent is determined by the heirs of James D Beville, Saltsman said, before adding: “The Leitchfield Parks & Recreation Department is so thankful for the partnership with the Collectively Outside Foundation and the Leitchfield VFW Post 12175.”
