Eli Woosley, Jr., age 81, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Saturday, (November 9, 2024) at Grayson Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on December 21, 1942 in Caneyville, KY, the son of the late Eli and Flora Elder Woosley.
He worked for Houchen’s Industries in various positions until his retirement, later working for Escue’s Wood Preserving. An avid UK fan, Eli loved to garden, farm, spend time on his tractor and keep in touch with his Amish neighbors.
He is survived by his spouse of more than 61 years, Nina Doris Young Woosley of Caneyville; two sons, Leonard Woosley (Becky) of Caneyville & Jonathan Woosley (Shannon) of Falls of Rough; three grandchildren, Cody Ikner, Skylar & Alexis Woosley; and one great-grandchild, Denver Ray Woosley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (November 12, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mike Cannon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yeaman Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
