A Beaver Dam man has been charged with sodomizing and providing drugs to a juvenile.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1000 block of Patterson Road, about 10 miles south of Beaver Dam, to conduct a welfare check on a juvenile, according to Sheriff Adam Wright.

When deputies arrived, they found a juvenile in a camper trailer in the front yard of the residence. Police then were “granted permission” by the camper’s adult occupant to search the camper.

During the search, police found methamphetamine and “multiple different types of drug paraphernalia commonly used in the consumption of methamphetamine,” Wright said.

Deputies arrested 44-year-old Jason W. Holland, the camper’s adult occupant. While Wright did not release details related to the charge, Holland was charged with third-degree sodomy. He is also being charged with providing drugs to a juvenile, as the suspect was charged with unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal controlled substance).

He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), prescription controlled substance not in its proper container and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate. According to online records, he was given a $10,000 cash bond.

Third-degree sodomy is partially described by Kentucky Revised Statute 510.090 as:

 (a) Being twenty-one (21) years old or more, he or she engages in deviate sexual intercourse with another person less than sixteen (16) years old;

(b) Being at least ten (10) years older than a person who is sixteen (16) or seventeen (17) years old at the time of deviate sexual intercourse, he or she engages in deviate sexual intercourse with the person;

(c) Being twenty-one (21) years old or more, he or she engages in deviate sexual intercourse with another person less than eighteen (18) years old and for whom he or she provides a foster family home as defined in KRS 600.020;

(d) Being a person in a position of authority or position of special trust, as defined in KRS 532.045, he or she engages in deviate sexual intercourse with a minor less than eighteen (18) years old with whom he or she comes into contact as a result of that position.
