Verna Ann Evans, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on October 13, 1951, to the late John Edward Frank and Imogene (Probus) Frank.
Originally from Grayson County, Kentucky, Verna spent most of her adult life raising her children in Russellville – where she retired after many years from Southern States Co-Op.
She was a member of Grace Community Chapel in Leitchfield and enjoyed studying her Bible, word searches and jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, George Stephen Evans, her brother, Darrell Frank, her brother-in-law, Steve Hawks, and her sister-in-law, Linda Frank.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (David) Beach of Brownsville, two sons – Jason (Toni Lynn) and Jonathan (Rachel) Evans – both of Russellville, and ten grandchildren – Samantha, Alex, and Anthony Beach; Bryce, Kilee, and Kinslee Evans; Blake Evans, Brayden and Chase Cropper, and Layne Jump.
She is also survived by seven brothers – Floyd (Anna Rose) Frank, Ronald (Mildred) Frank, Billy (Doris) Frank, Bobby (Debbie) Frank, Earl (Robin) Frank, Eric (Vonda) Frank, Danny (Cyndi) Frank; five sisters – Sheila (Mike) Green, Carolyn Hawks, Patsy (Karl) Wilkerson, Linda (Steve) Williams, Marsha (Kevin) Young; sister-in-law, Laura Frank, and long-time family friend, Steve Long.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held in Clarkson, Kentucky on Friday, October 25th, at Clarkson Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for family members and from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm for the public. (Grave-side service to follow at a later date.)
