A missing Lincoln County man has been found deceased.
Kentucky State Police was contacted on Tuesday, October 1, regarding 61-year-old Millard “Clem” Mason, of Stanford. He had last been seen on Monday, September 30, near Greenbriar Road in Stanford, according to Kentucky State Police.
State police, Lincoln County Emergency Management and rescue squads conducted searches in the Robertstown Road area of Lincoln County, as well as other locations.
“Their efforts led to the discovery of a deceased male in a wooded area near Robertstown Road in Kings Mountain,” state police said on Friday.
The initial investigation confirmed the deceased male as Mason.
The cause of death is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected. An autopsy will be performed at the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
The investigation is ongoing.
