A Clarkson woman, decorated for her work as a water treatment specialist, has been appointed as a member to the Kentucky Board of Certification of Water & Wastewater System Operators.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced the appointment of Robin Strader, a water quality specialist at the Leitchfield Wastewater Treatment Plant, to the board.

Her term will expire on July 31, 2027.

From 2017 to 2019, Strader served as chairwoman of the Kentucky Water and Wastewater Operators’ Association (KWWOA). Prior to serving as chairwoman of the KWWOA, she was vice chairwoman of the organization.

In July 2016, she was recognized by KWWOA with the Eugene Nicholas Award, “which recognizes individuals who promote the operator community through education,” the organization said.

She was also honored by the Kentucky Division in 2016 “for her efforts in training wastewater facility personnel.”

Strader has been a wastewater treatment specialist since 2000.
