Grayson County High School golf will send three golfers to next week’s semi-state championship.

Earlier this week, Jackson Mayes came in fourth in the region while battling unfriendly conditions. He has now qualified for the next round of state in each of the last four years.

On Thursday, seventh grader Elli Cox closed out a regional runner-up finish and Amelia Newton came in seventh.

It will be Cox’s first appearance in the state tournament and Newton’s second qualification.

The trio of golfers will play in semi-state next week at Shelbyville Country Club.

Mayes will tee off on Monday with Cox and Newton on Wednesday.
