Kentucky man sentenced to years in prison for his role in Jan. 6, 2021, riot at U.S. Capitol

A central Kentucky man has been sentenced for his role in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Stephen Chase Randolph, 34, of Harrodsburg, was sentenced to eight years in federal prison, 36 months of supervised release and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C.

He was convicted of civil disorder, assaulting a police officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon, inflicting bodily injury, and assaulting, resisting or impeding an officer.

In the 44 months since January 6, 2021, more than 1,504 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 560 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement.
