Lovell “Tootsie” Tarrance Bratcher, age 91, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was born on April 4, 1933, to Lukas and Mary Lee Mollyhorn Tarrance.
Tootsie loved to garden and can. She was an accomplished seamtress, being able to cut her own patterns out of newspaper, to make beautiful clothes and quilts. She loved to cook for her family. Her green beans and chicken dumplings were sought after at all gatherings.
Tootsie left behind the love of her life for 68 years, Dewey Ray.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Shela, and her son, Steven, and her daughter-in-law, Anita, whom she loved as her own. Two granddaughters, Meranda Sandlin (Chris) and Trellyn Kaufman-Gibson. And two great-granddaughters, Aurora and Annabelle.
She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Kerr (Milo) and Brenda Priest; three brothers, Kendal Tarrance (Sue), Mike Tarrance and Rick Tarrance.
Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Erma Busby, Marcella Dockery and Patricia Tarrance; four brothers, Lyndol, Glendol, Billy, and Tressie Tarrance; two nieces, Theressa Farris and Rhonda Snodgrass; and one nephew, David Tarrance.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Caneyville Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Embry and Bro. Dewayne Probus officiating. Burial will be in Lower Bates Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday and again from 9:00 am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
