A teenager has died in a crossover crash on the Bluegrass Parkway.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the two-vehicle accident Friday at 5:45 p.m. near the 13-mile marker of the parkway in Nelson County.

Police said the investigation showed that a 17-year-old male, of Coxs Creek, was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion west when the vehicle crossed the median and traveled into the path of an eastbound 2016 Cadillac Escalade, being driven by 41-year-old Patrick Reed, of Bardstown.

The juvenile was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner’s Office.

Reed and two passengers were airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to KSP.

The crash remains under investigation by KSP accident reconstructionist, Det. Brad Holloman.
