A man has been arrested after abandoning a stolen vehicle on the Western Kentucky Parkway near Clarkson and then stealing a truck in Grayson County.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office was notified Wednesday morning at approximately 7:00 that a truck had been stolen. With the help of the victim’s family, Grayson County Chief Deputy Sonny Poteet and Sheriff Norman Chaffins located the stolen vehicle at Smitty City, at the intersection of Anneta Road and St. Anthony Road at about 9:25 a.m. The suspect, 41-year-old Aaron Miller, of Louisville, was with the vehicle and was arrested, according to the arrest citation.
At approximately 9:47 a.m., Sgt. Jason Luedke located a second stolen vehicle, a 2007 Dodge Charger, near the 112-mile marker of the westbound Western Kentucky Parkway. The Charger was reported stolen out of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Chaffins said that Miller drove the Charger “until he ran out of gas.”
Miller, the citation states, admitted that he stole both vehicles.
Miller was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. He was also served with a warrant out of Jefferson County.
