A woman has been killed in a single-vehicle accident in Edmonson County.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash, at the request of the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, Thursday at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Louisville Road near Smiths Grove.
The investigation showed that a 2017 Lexus, being driven by 38-year-old Melissa Sargent, of Charleston, South Carolina, was traveling south on Louisville Road when the vehicle crossed the northbound lanes and exited the roadway, according to state police.
Sargent was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Edmonson Co. Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is being led by Trooper Landon Key.
