The body of eight-month-old Miya Rudd has been found.
Kentucky State Police said her “decomposed body was located inside the residence hidden in a concealed manner.” State police did not specify in which residence the body was found. Troopers have searched at least three homes during the investigation: Miya’s parents, maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother.
The body of the girl missing since late April was found at approximately 1:15 Friday afternoon.
The body will be taken to the Ohio County Coroner’s Office before being transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s office in Louisville.
Eight people have been arrested as police searched for the girl, including her parents, 29-year-old Tesla Tucker and 30-year-old Cage C. Rudd, and both sets of grandparents. Miya’s paternal grandfather, Ricky J. Smith, lived with Miya and her parents in Reynolds Station. Those three have been charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child (under the age of 12) and child abandonment, charges that appear to be directly related to Miya’s disappearance. The trio also faces a laundry list of drug charges.
K105 will have more information on this developing story as it becomes available.
