The Leitchfield Police Department is joining other law enforcement agencies in participating in the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Click It or Ticket campaign.
“The Leitchfield Police Department will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints for our Click It or Ticket campaign,” LPD said in a social media post.
“LPD and other law enforcement agencies will be checking for impaired drivers, children and adults that are not properly wearing seatbelts and to inform the public of seatbelt safety,” LPD said.
LPD and its partners are concentrating their traffic safety checkpoint efforts in high-traffic, high-fatality accident areas.
“These safety checkpoints will be focused on roadways within Grayson County that have experienced a high percentage of injuries or deaths due to motorists not wearing seatbelts,” LPD said.
