A driver was killed after colliding head-on with a dump truck.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash Thursday afternoon at approximately 5:00 on Hwy 70 near Madisonville.
The preliminary investigation, state police said, showed that a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, being driven west on Hwy 70 by 38-year-old Justin R. Hilt, of Dawson Springs, attempted to pass a vehicle when the Jetta collided head-on with a dump truck, being driven east by 29-year-old Jacob C. Adams, of Dawson Springs.
Hilt was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing by KSP accident reconstructionist, Trooper Hunter Combs.
